Phytosanitary & Legal Risk

What happens if you use DIY or informal pollen?

The danger extends far beyond poor pollination; it poses severe legal and financial disaster. Introducing undocumented biological material into your orchard exposes your farm to an official quarantine lockdown and compulsory vine destruction under plant health directives.

  • Primary vector for PSA Biovar 3 vascular floral infection
  • Hefty statutory administrative fines reaching tens of thousands of euros
  • Total forfeiture of crop insurance coverage or public disaster relief
Outcome: Irreparable agronomic and commercial devastation to your orchard.
Agro360 Regulatory Shield

Ahead of the curve: certified peace of mind

Agro360 is already compliant. We are not just a supplier; we are your regulatory compliance partner. By 2026, what is known as the Plant Passport will be mandatory standard across the EU: with Agro360, your documentation is fully certified today.

  • Official RUOP registry under identifier IT-12-1908
  • Real-Time PCR testing performed by accredited third-party laboratory Pedonlab
  • Inspection of accredited lab test report before completing any payment
Outcome: Absolute audit immunity and total biological crop protection.
Official Register of Professional Operators

Our RUOP Certification IT-12-1908

Agro360 is proudly registered in the Official Register of Professional Operators (RUOP) under identifier IT-12-1908. This guarantees that our entire production chain—from dedicated male orchards in Cisterna di Latina to -20°C cryogenic storage—is officially audited, traceable, and compliant with the highest European standards.

Dedicated Male Pollen Orchards

Pollen fields are situated in the Agro Pontino region in isolated zones constantly monitored for phytoplasma vectors and bacterial pathogens.

Integrated Phytosanitary Processing

Extraction takes place in cleanroom laboratories with controlled atmosphere, multi-stage gravimetric micro-filtration, and anhydrous dehydrators.

Diagnostic Molecular Screening

PCR Analysis: Molecular PSA-Free Certification

We do not rely on visual inspections; we rely on molecular science. The greatest biological threat to kiwifruit orchards is bacterial canker caused by Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (PSA).

LAB ASSAY // CHEMICAL EXTRACTION

DNA Extraction & Purification

Accredited laboratory Pedonlab S.r.l. extracts total genomic material from representative batch samples following validated EPPO standards, removing enzymatic inhibitors.

Method: Osmotic lysis & silica-membrane spin columns
LAB ASSAY // qPCR AMPLIFICATION

Real-Time PCR (qPCR)

The assay amplifies oligonucleotide diagnostic primers and probes selective for Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (biovar 3) on FAM/TAMRA fluorimetric channels with VIC internal control.

Protocol: EPPO PM 7/120 (2)
LAB ASSAY // CERTIFIED VERDICT

Official Report & Negative Verification

An accredited official test report validates that the lot is 100% PSA-Free (LoD < 10 CFU/ml, Ct > 40.0). We release lots backed by official documentation prior to final payment.

Result: 100% Guaranteed PSA-Free

Frequently Asked Questions on Certifications

Essential legal and agronomic details regarding the EU Plant Passport, PSA prevention protocols, and accredited laboratory validation.

Regulation (EU) 2016/2031 establishes stringent protective measures against plant pests. For Actinidia, it requires full traceability of reproductive material and pollen through the official Plant Passport. Professional operators must be officially registered in RUOP (Official Register of Professional Operators) and ensure every lot is strictly free from quarantine pests such as Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (PSA).

Under an optical or stereoscopic microscope, it is impossible to differentiate PSA bacteria attached to the exine of the pollen grain from harmless epiphytic bacteria. Real-Time PCR extracts total DNA and selectively amplifies specific gene regions exclusive to Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (Biovar 3). With a limit of detection (LoD) below 10 CFU/ml and Ct values > 40.0, the assay detects infinitesimal traces, guaranteeing absolute biological absence of the pathogen.

To safeguard growers' investments, Agro360 does not request any payment balance until the client or their designated agronomist has reviewed and validated the original analytical test reports issued by accredited laboratory Pedonlab S.r.l. (Latina) for the specifically allocated batch. Only upon full approval of the negative PCR certificate and >90% agar plate germination is the order finalized and dispatched at -20°C.

Every shipment travels in high-density sealed isothermal containers with cryogenic dry ice and a NIST-calibrated continuous digital USB data logger (recording every 10 minutes). Upon delivery, the grower can connect the data logger directly to verify that temperatures never exceeded -18°C, certifying complete enzymatic and biological viability.

Using undocumented pollen or material lacking an official Plant Passport violates European phytosanitary directives and national enforcement decrees, carrying substantial monetary penalties. Furthermore, in the event of a PSA bacterial canker outbreak traced to uncertified biological material, regional authorities can mandate compulsory orchard destruction without any eligibility for public compensation or insurance claims.
