How Per-Hectare Pollen Demand Is Determined

Every pistillate kiwifruit flower contains an ovary with over 1,000 independent ovules. To achieve Class 1 commercial size (>100g) and premium Dry Matter Content (DMC >17%), each blossom must receive an adequate load of viable pollen grains within 48–72 hours of anthesis.
